Dining at Alam Jiwo Resort

A Culinary Journey Inspired by the Island

Food at Alam Jiwo is inspired by the island. Fresh seafood from local fishermen, seasonal produce from island farms and ingredients from our own gardens come together in dishes that celebrate the flavours, traditions and natural beauty of Karimunjawa.

Three Pillars

Island-First Ingredients Our ingredients come from the sea and the soil around us. Local fishermen, island farmers, and our own gardens supply what the kitchen needs. Menus evolve with the seasons because the island decides what’s best, not us.

Indonesian Soul, Contemporary Touch Each dish draws from Indonesian culinary traditions and island life reinterpreted with care and a refined, contemporary hand. Familiar flavours, elevated simply.

Dining on Your Terms Breakfast in your villa. Lunch by the pool. Dinner on the beach at sunset. A private table at The Lantern overlooking the bay, or dine at Gerard’s restaurant with the evening ahead of you. Staying in Villa Catherine or Abbie? Start your morning with a floating breakfast in your private pool. You choose, we arrange.

From Relaxed Island Flavours to Private, Personalised Moments

Gerard’s our open-air, sea-facing restaurant is the heart of Alam Jiwo.

Built for long meals and easy conversation, it’s where the island comes to the table. Mellor’s, our beach bar, is for sundowners and snacks with sand between your toes. And if you’d rather not leave your villa, we’ll bring everything to you.

Thoughtfully curated moments, designed to be remembered

Sunset dinners on the beach, private gazebo dining at The Lantern with views across the bay, paired wine evenings, or a seafood barbecue under the stars. Every detail arranged, every moment yours.

Karimunjawa is beautifully remote

Karimunjawa is beautifully remote and that’s exactly the point. To make sure your stay is everything you want it to be, we ask every guest to share a few preferences before arrival: favourite drinks, dietary needs, foods you love (or can’t stand), and anything that would make your first and every evening perfect. We’ll do the rest. Some ingredients travel from the mainland, so the earlier we know, the better we can plan. Think of it less as a form and more as the start of a conversation.
